How to add a custom CNAME record to a domain/subdomain - overview

The procedure takes 3 simple steps, described in detail below:

1. First log into your own web hosting Control Panel. To do this, you need to enter your login details, your username and password, in the Members Area login form and then click the 'Login' button.

2. Once in the Control Panel, click on the Custom DNS Records section under Site Management.

3. Opening the Custom DNS Records section, specify the host, domain or subdomain, using the 'Hostname' drop-down menu, then select CNAME from the 'Type' drop-down menu.

3.1. Set the IP address that you wish your CNAME record to point to in the 'Value' blank field.

3.2. Then click on the 'Add New' button to save all changes and add your new CNAME record.

To see the newly updated CNAME record - scroll down to your hostnames list and check out the fields to the right.

You have gone through all steps for setting a custom CNAME record for your host.
