Recent Web Hosting NewsThe team of NTCHosting is happy to announce the addition of a new TLD to the list of domain name extensions! As we know how eagerly expected the .EU was, we are more then happy to announce that this TLD has now been made available for registration through our Web Hosting Control Panel. Here are a few details you might need to know before you start the registration process:
The .EU TLD is for the European Union and therefore, is allowed for registration by any person or organization established within the European Union.
Registration Period: Available for 1 year only, the same applies for the renewals of the registered domain name.
Domain Renewal: Renewal requests will be accepted by the date of expiration (e.g. September 14th, 2008) or by the 20th of the month of expiration, in cases when the date of expiration is after that date (e.g. September 25th, 2008).
Example: If the name expires on Sept 14th, 2008, then a renewal request must be received by Sept 14th, 2008. If a name expires on September 25th, 2008, the renewal request must be received prior to September 20th, 2008.
Pre-Configuration: Please, note that there is a condition set, concerning the information that is to be given by the registrant about their residency or origin. According to that condition, the registrant will need to present a valid address within the European Union at the time of registration. The EURid registry will then check the information and will approve or reject the request for registration. It is our task to notify the registrant in case the domain registration has been rejected, and to explain to them the reason for the rejection.
WHOIS Management: After the registration process has been completed, it is not further possible to edit the WHOIS information field of .EU domain names. Of course, occasionally some alterations are allowed, via the ticketing system available in the Help Center of the web hosting Control Panel, provided that the changes requested do not concern the personal or company name of the registrant (modification of such information is considered as 'formal transfer'). In order to alter information in these parts of the WHOIS field and, thus, execute a formal transfer of the domain ownership, the registrant must contact directly the EURid registry for to gain permission and authorization.
WHOIS / ID Protection: The service is unavailable for .EU domain names.
Registrar Change / Transfer: : The registrar of an .EU domain name cannot be changed, i.e. domain transfer is not possible.
We hope that providing this TLD, together with the capacity of our company to host websites on servers located in Europe (Maidenhead, UK), will secure much friendlier and higher-quality hosting services to our European clients.
