Where exactly is the .htaccess Generator?
The .htaccess Generator, together with the Hotlink Protection and IP Blocking tools that were taken from the Elefante Marketing Tools section, can be found in the new Elefante Administration Tools section, which is available in the Web Tools menu. .htaccess files can be also created if you go to the desired location using the Control panel's File Manager and click the .htaccess button that is located there.

What's the main purpose of the .htaccess Generator?
We devised this tool recognizing your need to create .htaccess files and realizing the fact that these files are sometimes not functioning properly due to mistaken parameters. The new generator will create the files correctly and thus will spare you the need to contact our Technical Support team whenever there are problems of such kind. By all means, we are always ready to help in case there are any problems with malfunctioning .htaccess files hosted on our servers.

What features does the .htaccess Generator contain?
The available features are grouped in six sections according to their purpose, as follows: - default index page
- additional MIME types
- authentication - allows IP and password authentication
- mod_rewrite - allows host authentication, redirection of wrong URLs to another web server, redirection by language and blocking sites by certain referrer
- custom error documents - allows setting up custom Error 400, 401, 403, 404 and 500 pages, and document redirection to a new URL
- other options - other options - Server Side Includes (SSI) addition, hotlinking protection and inclusion of PHP in HTML files

How should you apply the generated .htaccess code?
Once the form has been completed and submitted, the .htaccess code is generated. For your convenience, the code can be seen in a text box so that you can choose whether to add it to an existing .htaccess file, or to have the file created in the selected location.
