NTCHosting are happy to inform you that the new TLD .ME.UK has been made available for registration through the Web Hosting Control Panel. The management of the .ME.UK top-level domain is the same as it is for the rest of the .UK TLDs that we offer for registration. As you are probably aware, here we also have:

• Registration period - 2 years
• Renewals available for another 2 years
• Requests for renewals - accepted only within 5 months of the expiration date, not earlier or after
• WHOIS information field - cannot be modified directly from the Control Panel. The UK registry, Nominet, is to be contacted by the domain name owner whenever the information in the WHOIS field needs any alterations. That is because such changes are officially referred to as 'formal transfers' and there are certain fees payable to Nominet.

The so long expected .DE and .EU top-level domains are coming shortly. They have some special characteristics:

.DE
This is the TLD for Germany - probably the country's best-selling TLD lately. However, the registry of this domain, DENIC, has set a requirement concerning the registrant's information that needs to be presented at the time of registration. According to that requirement, it is necessary, when entering the administrative contact information, a street address or P.O. Box within Germany to be pointed, in order for the registration to be approved. There is no WHOIS / ID Protection service available for .DE domain names and the registration duration is optional to choose from a period of 1 to 10 years.

.EU
The .EU TLD is the widely recognized TLD for the European Union and, thus, can be registered by any person or organization established within the European Union. Registration of .EU domain names is set for a period of 1 year, afterwards renewal is offered for the same period. As is typical for most of the ccTLDs (country code domain names), WHOIS / ID Protection is not supported.
