How to add a custom SRV record to your domain or subdomain - overview

1. First you need to log into your personal web hosting account. Go to the Control Panel login link in the upper right corner of the page, then input your login details in the Members Login Area and hit the 'Login' button to be sent straight to your Control Panel.

2. Next visit the Custom DNS Records section. Once in the Control Panel index, move your mouse to Custom DNS Records and click its icon to be sent to that section.

3. Once you open the Custom DNS Records interface, select the name of the host from the Hostname drop-down menu.

3.1. Then choose SRV from the DNS Records 'Type' drop-down list and fill in the target host in the 'Value' field.

3.2. Next specify the service you wish to apply an SRV record for and the service protocol in the 'Service and Protocol' field and enter the required values, including Priority, Weight, Port and TTL. Input them one by one in their corresponding fields.

3.3. To finalize the creation of your custom SRV record, you should press the 'Add New' button and then confirm your request clicking OK in the pop-up dialogue box.

You should receive a message notifying you that your SRV record has been set successfully.
